Kellymoss, seasoned championship Porsche racing team, is excited to announce the addition of Loni Unser to the Kellymoss team running in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America in 2024. While Unser is following in the footsteps of her distinguished motorsports family members, she’s far from a newcomer to the racing scene. Unser has been professionally racing since high school. Her resume to date features 3 seasons in the WRL, including her first win in 2018, two MX-5 cup events and numerous appearances in endurance and spec Miata races. Notably, Unser was the first woman to place in the top 10 of the Mazda MX-5 cup twice with back-to-back finishes. She’s also competed multiple times in the Pike’s Peak hill climb, a famously difficult racing challenge.
For Kellymoss, the addition of Unser further supports the team’s commitment to broadening participation opportunities for female drivers in Porsche one-make racing series. “We first met Loni during last year’s female driver shootout. We had many highly qualified contenders, but we were so impressed with her tenacity and spirit, we knew we had to find a way to work with Loni in the future,” said Victoria Thomas, CFO and co-owner, Kellymoss. “By collaborating with Loni as a brand ambassador for our Race Forward program highlighting the importance of expanding diversity within motorsports, we were able to attract premier sponsors to enable Loni’s participation in the 2024 season.” Beyond supporting female drivers, the Race Forward program also includes educational components designed to engage youth in motorsports and develop a broader fan base for the sport from all demographics.
Loni shares the Kellymoss enthusiasm for the start of the season, “I could not be more excited to race the Cayman GT4 RS in the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America. It has been something I have been working on with Kellymoss for over a year and I’m excited to see what I can do! I feel fortunate to have amazing partners like Speedway Motors, TruStage, Mobil 1 and Yokohama supporting my efforts.”
Unser will race this weekend in Sebring, FL, with a strong class of competitors as she starts her first season on Team Kellymoss, contributing to deliver another stellar racing season as the team seeks to defend their 2023 Championship title.
